Trial Update – October 28, 2025
Earlier today, the Crown Attorney’s Office sent an update confirming that tomorrow’s appearance in R. v. Lewis is expected to be a brief adjournment rather than a full hearing.
According to the message from Assistant Crown Attorney Matthew Caputo, the Crown has been waiting on Justice Kurke’s availability and has not yet received confirmed dates. As a result, tomorrow’s appearance will likely be limited to scheduling matters and postponed to next week to allow more time to coordinate court dates.
Mr. Caputo noted that Trent Wilson will attend on behalf of the Crown and that Mr. Bayliss will likely not attend, since it is expected to be a short administrative update. The Crown described tomorrow’s appearance as “likely going to be benign.”
We will continue to share verified updates here as soon as new dates are provided by the Crown Attorney’s Office or the court.
