More Than a Bus — A Mission in Motion
Thanks to an incredible anonymous donation, Sammy’s Backpacks introduces a new accessible bus to serve schools, families, and communities with heart, inclusion, and love.
We are extremely excited and happy to share that we have just purchased a beautiful wheelchair-accessible shuttle bus for Sammy’s Backpacks.
This dream has been in the works for over two years, and it’s finally coming true thanks to an incredibly generous anonymous donation that helped make this purchase possible. We truly cannot thank them enough. Their kindness is helping us carry Sammy Jr.’s legacy forward in a meaningful way.
We would also like to extend a very special thank you to Richmond Hill Machinery, a proud third-generation family business established in 1968. As a second-generation family business ourselves, founded in 1963, this connection means even more to us.
Their team was aware of Sammy’s Backpacks and the mission behind it, and they could not have been more supportive. Their generosity in providing a significant discount on the bus made this purchase possible, and we are incredibly grateful for their support and belief in what we are doing.
This bus will serve as our mobile delivery vehicle, allowing us to bring backpacks and school supplies directly to schools and individual families. It will also travel with us to all of our events, and soon we’ll be visiting even more schools throughout the community.
The bus is built to comfortably accommodate up to seven people, including the driver, and features a handicap-accessible ramp so that every child can be part of the experience. No one gets left behind.
We can already picture the smiles on the kids’ faces when they see this bus pull up to their school. It’s going to make them feel seen, included, and excited.
We are now looking for sponsors and supporters to help us add the final personal touches, including a custom wrap design that reflects the heart, love, and spirit of our son Sammy Jr., our family, and the mission of Sammy’s Backpacks.
The more support we receive, the more children we can help.
This is about so much more than backpacks and school supplies.
It’s about unity.
It’s about building strong children for the future.
It’s about overcoming hardship together.
It’s about showing up with strength, compassion, and love.
