Sault Star’s Twisted Testimony Spin: The Truth About the Montana Lewis Trial and My Son Sammy Graham’s Murder
By the Graham Family — Justice for Sam
Every time the media prints another one-sided story about my son’s murder, it feels like my heart breaks all over again.
The latest Sault Star article twisted Montana Lewis’s testimony to make him sound like a “worried brother protecting his sister.” But those of us who lived the truth — and who have sat through every day of this Sault Ste. Marie murder trial — know that’s not what happened.
Semiah’s sworn testimony and our family’s lived experience expose every falsehood in that narrative.
Who Sammy Graham Really Was
Sammy Graham was just 19 — kind, respectful, and raised to treat people right. He held doors, spoke kindly, and treated women with genuine care.
When Sammy met Semiah, we welcomed her like one of our own. What some outsiders now call “abuse” was nothing more than normal young love — the ups and downs, jealousy, and arguments every couple faces.
But Montana Lewis never liked Sammy. From the start, he carried a grudge — harsh toward his sister and cold toward my son. Things only stayed calm while Montana was in his own relationship in 2019, but after his breakup in 2020, the hostility came roaring back.
Then came November 12, 2020 — the night our son was taken forever.
Two stab wounds: one to the left side that pierced his spine, another through his triceps, deep enough to hit bone.
Cold. Deliberate. Planned.
Sault Star vs. The Truth — Side by Side
| Sault Star’s Claims | The Truth Our Family Knows |
|---|---|
| Montana “heard bad feedback” about Sammy and disliked him instantly. | One friend from Montana’s own circle repeated old gossip — no proof, just hate. |
| Sammy “restricted” Semiah’s social life. | False. Sammy often said he wanted to see his friends more, but Semiah preferred they spend time together. Typical young-couple dynamic. |
| Montana “confronted” Semiah about bruises. | Semiah’s sworn testimony: No bruises. No witnesses. No evidence. Pure fabrication. |
| Montana “rescued” Semiah from Sammy’s house after a tip. | Never happened. She told them to leave because she feared Montana and her father would escalate things and hurt Sammy. |
| Montana “learned from friends” about mistreatment. | False. They argued like many couples, but there was never abuse. Semiah confirmed this in court. |
| The twins were “very close,” and their parents’ past explains Montana’s actions. | Family history doesn’t excuse murder. Sammy treated Semiah with love and respect — that’s the truth. |
| After the arrest, Montana “tried to drown himself” in despair. | Footage shows he dunked his head in a toilet for seconds. No rescue. The teardrop tattoo after? Not remorse — pride. |
What the Media Won’t Tell You
Sammy Graham wasn’t controlling or cruel — he was protective, patient, and gentle unless provoked.
He died standing up for the woman he loved, defending her against the same brother who’d belittled her for years.
This wasn’t “protection.”
It was jealousy and rage disguised as concern, and it cost a good young man his life.
Our Promise: We Will Keep Telling the Truth
When the media paints Montana Lewis as a tragic hero, remember this:
Sammy Graham was the real victim.
He was kind.
He was gentle.
He was loved — and he deserves justice.
We’ll keep sharing the truth about the Montana Lewis trial and the Sault Ste. Marie murder case until justice is served and Sammy’s light is honoured.

Sammy and Bridgett: Your struggles the past 5 yrs have been tremendous. Now, finally the trial. I’ve tried to follow through Soo Today. Wish I could put myself in the court room to show another person who loved Sam Jr. Montana is surely guilty of FIRST-DEGREE MURDER and with all the evidence I just can’t imagine any other outcome. My prayers are strong and coming your way. Sam, Bridgett, I love you both and the truth will come out.
