A Father’s Statement: Sam Graham Sr. Speaks About the Murder of His Son, Sam Graham Jr.
In this deeply personal statement, Sam Graham Sr., father of 19-year-old murder victim Sam Graham Jr., shares his truth about his son’s life, love, and the pursuit of justice. Written during the ongoing Montana Lewis murder trial in Sault Ste. Marie, this message stands as a testament to love, faith, and strength in the face of unimaginable tragedy.

“I don’t know what my son’s last words were, but his actions speak for who he was—loudly to the world, to the courts, and to the Lewis family.”
A boy that became a man in those three years—who entered into their daughter’s life to make it better, to protect her from everything she needed protection from. That’s who all the Grahams are: people who love deeply and protect fiercely.
Sammy showed Semiah what love truly is and what it means.
Who opens the door for his girlfriend every single time, especially in this day and age? My son does. That’s who he was.
He had a future. We had a future.
And one person took all those dreams away—from my son, from Semiah, from my entire family.
Montana took from my wife and me the near future of seeing grandchildren from him and Semiah. Our future was his life.
How do we rewrite our future now?
He was a man deeply in love with Semiah Lewis and would do anything to keep her safe from anyone—especially her brother, Montana.
Semiah was also madly in love with my son and would have done anything for him.
Montana was not kind to his sister for years, long before Sammy came into her life. But from the moment Sam appeared, Montana’s anger turned toward him. It wasn’t one bad day—it was three years of resentment leading up to November 12, 2020, the day he murdered my son.
That’s why the text messages matter—they reflect years of hatred and jealousy.
Sammy always told us how much Montana hated him from day one, for no reason. He could never understand why.
For a while, they tried to get along. Sammy even invited Montana to our camp, where they all hung out—crazy, right?
But if Sam and Semiah weren’t at her house, they were at ours. She didn’t like being alone without him. What does that tell you?
There were late-night texts when Sammy would wake us up to say he needed to go pick up Semiah and bring her safely home.
My son was a hero. The unselfish actions he took that day came from pure love and instinct to protect.
I believe Sammy and Semiah’s love will never end, and we will always be here for her if she ever needs us.
We wish her, her husband, and their soon-to-arrive baby girl nothing but love and healing energy. We already feel love for that child—and maybe one day, she’ll hear about my son and know the kind of man he was.
One day, I’ll tell the full story of everything I know.
The truth will come out—it always does.
Let our system stand up for real justice and start holding real criminals accountable for what they’ve done. This is a first-degree murder case, and the evidence continues to prove it every day in court. We’ve all seen the lies and contradictions unfold.
That’s why I asked people to come watch—to see for themselves.
It’s clear there’s been an effort to cover up what happened and protect the guilty.
He planned this. He wanted my son dead.
Because my son took away his control over his sister.
To everyone sending prayers and love—thank you.
We feel your strength and your compassion every day.
God bless everyone sending healing energy to my family and to the Lewis family.
Truth. Love. Compassion. Strength.
